Before you call me
How to check your benefits
A short call with your insurer gets you a real number instead of a guess.
-
Find the member services number
It’s on the back of your insurance card.
-
Ask three questions
What is my outpatient mental health benefit? What is my copay or coinsurance? Does my deductible apply first?
-
Write down what they tell you
Ask for a reference number for the call.
Common questions
- How much will therapy cost me with insurance?
- It depends entirely on your plan. With insurance you pay your plan’s copay or coinsurance for outpatient behavioral health, after any deductible. The only reliable way to find out is to call the member services number on the back of your card.
- Do you take Wisconsin Medicaid?
- Yes, I’m credentialed with ForwardHealth, Wisconsin Medicaid.
- What if you don’t take my insurance?
- Reach out anyway. Networks change, and self-pay is $125 per session, with a limited number of reduced-fee spots available.
Paying without insurance? Sessions are $125. More about fees →
